Who we are
Structure

Strictly speaking, we should say “who we were,” since Kyon remained practically dormant for many years. The company was founded around the year 2000 by Dr. Willy Gerber, a physicist who spent the first 15 years of his career applying physics to solve technological problems (design errors), fostering product innovation (new technologies), and improving operational quality (quality management systems). During this period, he worked at Hilti Befestigungstechnik (Liechtenstein) and collaborated with various companies through the consultancy Qualicon (Switzerland)/Cidos (Chile). In a second stage, he devoted another 15 years to process consulting, covering areas such as quality systems, economic and business process modeling (ABC costing, process optimization, strategic planning). In this field, he worked for companies such as SkyManagement (Switzerland/USA), Price Waterhouse (Chile, now PwC), and Kyon itself, in projects for airlines, manufacturing, and service companies. Finally, he returned to academia as a lecturer at the Austral University of Chile (Valdivia), where he developed new methods of teaching and applying physics, enabling students with different levels of preparation to understand complex concepts and solve advanced problems. He concluded this stage with his retirement in early 2025. Today we are relaunching Kyon, drawing on vast accumulated experience, the contribution of colleagues from diverse fields and specialties, and the motivation of students eager to take on new challenges. As a first step, we are publishing the key models that will serve as the foundation of our work, and we invite you to explore them with us.
